Floating licenses are tied only to the hardware of the server running the license manager. Each client connects to the license manager to request licenses. It will be denied if there are no more licenses available.

The advantage of this licensing method is that the license is not tied to a user's hardware. Thus, multiple users can share a license as long as they close 3DViewStation after using it.
